Henri-Marie Boudon: No one can be saved without the true faith

Henri-Marie Boudon (1624–1702) was a French Catholic priest and spiritual writer whose teachings on devotion to the Virgin Mary influenced Saint Louis-Marie Grignion of Montfort. Saint Louis of Montfort says about him that he died “in the odor of sanctity.”

In this quote, Henri-Marie Boudon properly teaches, in accordance with Church teaching, that no one can be saved without the true faith, the traditional Catholic faith:

“… heretics, no matter what good works they may appear to perform, even if they were to give all their possessions to the poor, endure patiently all the sufferings of the world, or spend their entire lives in seclusion, cannot be saved because they have no faith.”
