Chapter 4

I strictly command all the Brothers not to receive money or pecune in any manner, either by themselves or through an intermediary. However, for the needs of the sick and to clothe the other Brothers, let the Ministers and Custodes alone, with the help of spiritual friends, take great care of this according to the places, the times, and the cold regions, as they shall deem necessary: this always excepted, as has been said, that they receive neither currency nor money.
