Chapter 9

Let the Brothers not preach in the diocese of any Bishop when the latter objects to it.

And let none of the Brothers dare, in any way, to preach to the people unless the Minister General of this fraternity has examined and approved him, and has granted him the office of preaching.

I also warn and exhort these same Brothers to ensure that, in the preaching they give, their words are examined and chaste, for the benefit and edification of the people, announcing to them vices and virtues, punishment and glory, with brevity of speech: because the Lord has made His word brief upon the earth.
